It's a cruel, cruel world.
Apparently we're popular in Moscow. No, not the Land O'Samsonov. There is apparently a place in Idaho called Moscow, and people seem to visit here a lot, according to that tracker thing. Also, we've had a visitor from Minsk. How awesome.
Anyway, because of some sort of twisted situation, Cross played in the Edmonton-Detroit game, and Ulanov didn't. Not that I'm suggesting that Ulanov should have ended up in Detroit. That would have been very bad.

Sometimes I look at Cory Cross's glassy eyes and think to myself, "There is nothing there. No heart, no effort, no cognitive process. Just emptiness. 'Durrrr, me hit puck, puck go away, ice = slidey.'"
Whereas with Uli, love him or hate, think he's great or talentless, he at the very least lays it out on the ice. Even if he makes a fuck up, you know damn well that his heart is 100% in the game and he's probably not going to make the same mistake again.
I've never agreed with the "Crossanov" label [although I found it deliciously humourous; along with "Conkanen"] as I thought that this was the biggest difference between Cory and Igor. The former just never looked like he wanted to play. The latter looked like he would play 60 minutes if it were possible.
I've actually heard that Cross is a nice guy. He just became my arch nemesis while on the Oilers, right before he got traded. Because he's not any better than Ulanov, it made me mad when he played and Igor didn't. That is all.
...and you can tell a true fan by his or her blind devotion.
Interesting story as for me. I'd like to read something more concerning this theme. Thank you for sharing that information.
